Animal Control

The City of Humboldt Dog and Cat Control Bylaw stipulates that all dogs and cats over the age of three months require an annual license, which expires at the end of the calendar year.  The annual license fee for each animal is $20.00.  On application for the license where the owner provides a veterinarian's certificate stating that the animal has been neutered or spayed, the license fee will be reduced to $10.00 per year.

Should a dog or cat be found running at large within the City limits, the animal will be taken to the local SPCA, located on Hwy #5 East.  If the animal has a license, the owner will be notified that the animal has been found and is waiting to be picked up.  However, if the animal does not have a specific owner the animal is kept for 72 hours and then may be adopted out to a new family.
