Back Yard Pick-up Compost Collection Program Posted May 15, 2013 Residents are advised that the Back Yard Pick-up Compost Collection Program will begin May 22, 2013. The program will pick up grass clippings, leaves, garden refuse and small twigs. Items must be piled loose or packaged in clear plastic bags and cannot be mixed with other household garbage. Large twigs and branches are to be placed in a separate pile. The program completes a full-pick-up cycle of the community every 4-to-6 weeks. Residents interested in composting may take advantage of the City's Composting Bin Rebate; further information about how to properly create home composting can be found on the Compost Council of Canada's website.
City of Humboldt Housing Programs Posted May 1, 2013 To encourage options when developing housing in Humboldt, the City has developed three housing incentive programs - the Rental Construction, the Rental Repair, and the Secondary Suite Construction incentive programs (click the desired link to access the application form). All three are linked to existing Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) programs; please note the City's programs are conditional upon the applicant receiving approval and funding through SHC. (*Please note the Secondary Suite Program has been very successful and is not accepting applications at this time; please contact SHC if you would like to be notified when the program begins accepting applications again.)

City Property Reassessment Posted April 16, 2013 - Updated May 2, 2013 The City of Humboldt has updated its property assessments as 2013 is a reassessment year. Assessment notices have been mailed. The City has worked with the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA) to update and capture the change in value caused by growth in the province, so that property assessments are transparent, understandable, and accurate. Further reassessment and individual property information is also available on SAMA's website.
Municipal Infrastructure Conference April 24 & 25, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 - Updated April 30, 2013 On April 24 & 25, Humboldt successfully hosted the first-ever conference dedicated to municipal infrastructure issues affecting communities 40,000 or less. Bringing together over 200 municipal, government and industry delegates along with associated organizations, the conference brought presentations and best practice ideas forward on topics such as asset management, financial and long-term planning, growth, renewal and innovation. Minister of Government Relations James Reiter, joined in this photo by Mayor Malcolm Eaton, Chair of the Conference Steering Committee, addressed conference attendees during the event and highlighted how investment in infrastructure is a key component of the Saskatchewan Plan For Growth.
