City Addressing Spring Melt
Posted April 7, 2014

With spring melt leaving some areas of the community waterlogged, the City advises that crews are working to clear storm drains as best possible.  Deep frost and overnight temperatures below freezing means that soils have not yet thawed, creating conditions where water freezes and clogs the City's drainage system.  The priority in which storm drains are responded to is as follows:  1. Possible Property Damage (water entering houses, City assets, or businesses causing damage); 2. Accessibility (to City infrastructure, school and hospital zones, handicap access, bus zones, playgrounds, etc.); 3. Flooded roadways including intersections.  Residents are asked to call City Hall at (306) 682-2525 if melt water is threatening their property.
