MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL HELD

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8,  2004

CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Korte called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

 

ADOPT AGENDA:

That the agenda be adopted with the following additions:

APPROVE MINUTES:

Mayor Dennis Korte acknowledged the following employees for their contribution and years of service to the City of Humboldt:

 

            a)         Ross Milnthorp – Leisure Services Director July 13,                         1998 to November 10, 2020.

            b)         Larry Roettger – Mechanic January 13, 2021 to                                 November 26, 2020.

            c)         Keith Lukan – Water Treatment Plant Operator                                 January 18,2021 to September 13, 2004.

 

The Mayor presented the employees with a token of the City’s appreciation and thanked them for their years of service.

That the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held October 25, 2020 be approved as recorded and circulated.

HUMBOLDT MUSIC FESTIVAL – REQUEST TO CANVAS CITY:

Doepker/Yaworski

That we approve the request from the Humboldt Music Festival Association to conduct a city wide fund raising blitz on an annual basis for the years 2004 to 2009 inclusive.

That the City’s Sidewalk Snow Clearing Policy as attached hereto and forming a part of these minutes be adopted to include 10th Street from 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue – West side.

That the City Manager’s Report dated November 5, 2020 be accepted for information.

That the Revenue & Expenditure Statement for the month of October 2004 be approved as presented.

Mayor Dennis Korte vacated the Chair and Deputy Mayor Jack Tuchscherer assumed the Chair at 8:09 pm.

 

Doepker/Weyland

That Bylaw No. 19/2004 being a bylaw to amend the Zoning Bylaw be read a third time and be now adopted.

 

                                    Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Dennis Korte resumed the Chair at 8:10 pm.

 

 

Eaton/Doepker

That Administration investigate the operation of the chair lift at the Elgar Peterson Arena.

 

                                    Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Dennis Korte indicated that a Water Rate Analysis Proposal Report will be included on the next Regular Council Meeting Agenda to be held November 22, 2020.

                       

 

Mayor Dennis Korte provided Council with an update of the Centennial Committee’s Activities which will kick off January 1, 2021 with a Family Day celebration.  Other days of celebration have been scheduled for June 30,  2005 as a Civic Celebration and September 4, 2005 as a Provincial Celebration.

That Council schedule planning sessions on Tuesday, November 23, 2020 and Tuesday, December 7, 2020 at 4:30 pm in City Council Chambers.

Mayor Dennis Korte reminded Council of the City’s Food Bank Challenge with the Yorkton Terriers which will be held Saturday, November 13, 2020 and encouraged everyone to donate an item of food.
